The Healing Voices Choir
Wednesday Afternoon 1 - 3 pm
Every Wednesday at the Winsome Hotel 1pm, individuals who have had their lunch at the Lismore Soup Kitchen can stay on for a good old fashioned sing along. The band is a narrative and musical therapy programme led by Peter Lehner. The Winsome Street Band aims to connect with, inspire and empower those who are living or working in homeless or disadvantaged communities, through creating music, performance and passionate expression, that truly opens people's hearts. If you can play a guitar, or bang a drum, or sing shout and clap, then you're very welcome to come and join in. It's loads of fun and a wonderful community building activity.
Winsome Gospel Choir
Wednesday Night 7 pm
Every Wednesday night, 7pm at the Winsome Hotel, people from all walks of life come together to sing with their new friends. Gospel music is arranged in 4 part harmony, designed to suit a sound called "Belting". This is the part of the voice that is easiest for beginner singers to really let go with full emotion. The songs are simple and repetitive, which makes them easy to learn. The genre tends towards improvising and jammin'. You're guaranteed to leave feelin' groovy.
